>>>>LIFE TEEN is...
a comprehensive youth ministry program with a strong focus on the Eucharist. Starting with a weekly LIFE TEEN Mass, high school teens are placed in an environment where they have the opportunity to experience fully the greatest gift we have as the Church. This liturgy provides the cultural connection for the teens - allowing them to take ownership of their faith.

...............Walk into the Prince of Peace Narthex any Sunday afternoon just prior to the LIFE Teen Mass and no doubt you'll be engulfed by lively, upbeat contemporary music as the LIFE Teen Band warms up and rehearses. Shortly before 6PM as teens grab the pews at the front of the sanctuary and their families scramble for the last remaining seats, the warm-up begins with the assembly. You'll hear lots of loud singing and clapping as everyone joins in songs of praise. Then, after a brief welcome, the celebration begins and for the next hour or so, everyone joins in celebrating the Eucharist together in joyful and prayerful songs that are geared for teens but liturgically sound.<<<
You and I are sympatico on the train wreck that is Life Teen, but I would ask as if this photo is from their actual mass as opposed to their Life Nite proceedings which are seperate. I ask because it looks as though this is taking place in the church basement rather than the church proper (in which case thank the Lord for small favors). Adding you to my blogroll.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, from the caption under the picture...which I just added.....the promoters are implying that this is a 'liturgy'..
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong, Scott. For now I'll leave the caption.
I note especially the "but" in the last sentence.
