Pelagian Youth Choir Serenades Pope Francis at WYD in Rio!!!

Who says ecumenism is bad??  :-) Maybe Pelagians will be invited to Assisi as well!!
my remarks, and the title above are 'in jest'. If you play the video in full screen, you will see the Holy Father praying along, in Latin.

[[UPDATE]]btw, James J., your comments are noted.  I just cannot publish them!  I think if you pray for the Pope and then write him and tell him-- how his dismissing the prayers of so many devout, devoted faithful, and accusing them of heresy--has wounded them deeply, then I think he will listen.

Her name is Larissa Viana!!!

A young man explains in Spanish and then Portuguese how Larissa Viana's 'Panis Angelicus' quietly demolishes progressive arguments against the use of Latin.   Briefly, only Latin expresses the Church's Catholicity.   Then, finally! @ 5:06 he includes a high quality video of Miss Viana's hymn of Adoration

Miss Viana also leads the Salve Regina  below:

The Latin Mass is thriving at WYD

( from rorate-caeli blog: Traditional Masses and activities are taking place in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel of the Ancient See, the former Cathedral of Rio. Reader Luis Augusto Rodrigues Domingues has posted several images of the beautiful chuch completely filled with young people during the Pontifical Mass celebrated yesterday by Bishop Fernando Rifan, apostolic administrator of the Personal Apostolic Administration of St. John Mary Vianney, in Campos, Brazil. )

Girl Knocks it out of the Park at Copacabana Beach opening WYD Mass!!!! Beautiful!!!

'Panis Angelicus' silences hundreds of thousands!!

I think she knocks it all the way to Africa!

this from Stephen Lenahan of Atlanta GA

Heavenly moment

Perhaps the most breathtaking part of Mass was after Communion, when a young woman sang the Panis Angelicus. As we were windblown and wet from the falling mist of the weather and the waves, it was the most serene and peaceful I have ever felt in a crowd that big. As I looked out over the entire beach, which is internationally known as a place of partying, scantily-clad beach bums, it was as if heaven had gently come down and reclaimed the entire place. "The angelic bread becomes the bread of men; The heavenly bread ends all prefigurations: What wonder! The Lord is eaten by a poor and humble servant."

I cannot think of a better song to describe the spirit of what is taking place among the young people this week in Rio.
<<<<<<<<<<

btw, if you care to watch the entire Mass here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3oWBLmG1XY&feature=c4-overview&list=UU7E-LYc1wivk33iyt5bR5zQ
she sings at 1H40Minutes.

Also, perhaps it is signficant that the Vatican cameras captured Zero hand Communion at this out door Copacabana Mass?

Maybe not :-(....I just watched the papal Mass @ Aparecida and Holy Communion was distributed in the typical free-for-all  any-old-way.  I'll make one positive note at this point and that is the Copacabana communicants featured on camera receiving on the tongue only were much younger than the crowd at Aparecida who were grabbing Our Lord and running away.

Eucharistic Reverence Undermined at July 6th Papal Mass

Friends!

I wish I had good news to relate, but :-( , :-( , :-(  !!!

Pope Francis and his MC still do apparently have a 'no hand Communion' regulation functioning,
@ 1hour15min00sec shows. A young lady is corrected to receive on the tongue.  As I have pointed out before, this is captured on camera at almost all of Francis' Masses, (and only in one of Pope Benedict's in all eight years of his pontificate) and no minister would go-out-on-a-limb, and being a 'meanie',  if the Holy Father had said he did not care how Communion is received.

However the Pope's desire is undermined big-time by....

1) no paten being used by his ministers
2) abundant instances of ministers succumbing to communicants' appeals to take the Holy Eucharist in their hands.

Perhaps it needs to be re-iterated. Hand Communion and casual posture during reception weaken people's faith in  the Real Presence. Period.

This is a battle worth fighting. and winning.
