Our Hero, Athanasius preaches on guarding the purity and beauty of our Faith!

http://de.gloria.tv/?media=28684

this is yesterday's sermon. .....

more later [OK it's later!!] His Excellency states a number of points made in his book, Dominus Est. His emphasis is upon the example of St. Paul and who Paul thought protecting the purity of the Gospel message was so important that he called a curse upon anyone who took it upon themselves to tamper with it.

Bishop Schneider warned that people who want to preserve the Church's beauty and purity can expect a lot of trouble from the world, and they should not suprised when they are persecuted by those within the Church. He brings up the example of his own patron saint, Athanasius who fought with an overwhelming number of Arian priests and bishops who were within the Church.

The Bishop spends some time discussing the fallen Soviet Union and how it successfully blew up many church buildings but was never able to blow up the Church as it lived in the hearts of simple lay people.

Article on Archbishop Weakland's betrayal

K. C. often repeats the claim that the Church's central problem is that she doesn't worship like she believes, and that her biggest traitors in the area of social issues are usually somehow connected with idiosyncratic worship. A case in point: Milwaukee's retired Archbishop.

Archbishop Weakland was pioneer of the [I'm not making this up].....'Hootenanny Mass'.
http://www.cantemusdomino.net/2009/05/13/archbishop-weakland-and-the-rise-of-the-hootenanny-mass/
If you are wondering about what that is, you must only go down and watch a 'life teen' mass at your local parish, or go to a Catholic High School's mass. Sadly, most have adopted this format.....

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has an article about the Archbishop's putative harboring of a child molesting priest.... and his pathetic defense....

http://www.jsonline.com/features/religion/45368687.html

I understand there are good people that do not see the connection which K. C. insists exists. i.e. they do not see irreverent, casual, or even pseudo-protestant worship as an evil per se.... that it is a separate issue from that of Catholics who don't support the Church on life issues. If you are one of these, please feel free to engage me!...

why hand Communion can never be more hygienic

When writing the 2nd post on Senator Kerry and hand Communion, a question came to mind:

How does the Nuncio even know where the Senator’s hands are unless he is making physical contact with them? He's doing what they call in basketball a 'no-look pass'! This is where the claim that hand Communion is hygienic collides with reality. Actual physical body to body contact is being made with almost every instance of hand Communion, with Communion on the tongue it happens once in a blue moon. I’ve been told this by people who do it both ways.
There is simple geometry involved here. When the person taking Communion in the hand ‘makes a throne’, her fingers form a shield which the minister must overcome and eventually contact unless he is simply going to drop the host into her hands. If the minister tries to go over and in, he will still contact the shield.

Austrian Diocese of Linz celebrates victory over the Pope

Earlier this year Linz Diocese mounted an effective political campaign and eventually forced Pope Benedict XVI to back down from naming Fr. Ludwig Wagner as their auxiliary bishop. Father Wagner apparently too conservative and just wasn't in tune with 'the way they do things around there'.

Now take a look at this picture from Sunday's Feast of Corpus Christi procession! Dean Helmut Part is taking a victory lap with our Lord!

Helmut Part! Repent for your modern-day re-humiliation of Our Lord and Savior! For your information, this is how Our Lord has been exposed and honored for the past 800 years! (see picture on left)

Lose the industrial sized tweezers you picked up at Harbor Freight!

Senator DeMint is Father Mowbray

Sotomayor says she has ‘never thought about’ rights of unborn, senator reports

>>>>>>[from Father Z’s blog]On Tuesday Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) discussed his meeting with Sotomayor.“We had a good meeting that covered a wide array of issues and Judge Sotomayor was very personable and engaging. However, I didn’t hear anything today that eased my concerns,” he said.“When I asked if an unborn child has any rights whatsoever, I was surprised that she said she had never thought about it,” Sen. DeMint reported. “This is not just a question about abortion, but about the respect due to human life at all stages, and I hope this is cleared up in her hearings.” …“Those who serve on the highest court in America must have an unwavering commitment to the Constitution and equal justice for all Americans,” he said>>>>

K. C. is moving from ‘puzzled’ or ‘hopeful’ to ‘against’ President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sotomayor. The judge is either lying or belongs in the category of Rex Mottram. Who was Rex? Rex is Evelyn Waugh’s idea of modern education’s ‘New Man’ i.e. ‘ignorance on stilts’. [btw Waugh was St. Edmund Campion’s most extensive biographer.] Maybe Evelyn Waugh, RIP, can help us understand what is going on here…

In his Brideshead novel, Waugh has Rex pursuing Julia, a blue-blooded Catholic girl. Rex is so eager to have her, he decides to convert to Catholicism. Julia’s family enlists a Jesuit, Father Mowbray to catechize Rex. Father M., to his frustration, finds Rex has a lack of curiosity “unknown to any pagan culture”. Father notes: “He was exceptionally docile, and he accepted everything I told him, remembered bits of it, asked no questions.”

For your enjoyment I’m including one of several hilarious ‘Rex’ sections. It turns out Julia’s little sister, Cordelia, has also been Catechizing her future brother in law and has been taking merciless advantage of Rex’s lack of curiosity, feeding him whatever he is willing to believe about Catholicism:
[from Brideshead]>>>>>>>>>>
Father Mowbray: ….yesterday I got a regular eye-opener. The trouble with modern education is you never know how ignorant people are. With anyone over fifty you can be fairly confident what's been taught and what's been left out. But these young people have such an intelligent, knowledgeable surface, and then the crust suddenly breaks and you look down into the depths of confusion you didn't know existed.

Take yesterday. He seemed to be doing very well. He'd learned large bits of the catechism by heart, and the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary. Then I asked him as usual if there was anything troubling him, and he looked at me in a crafty way and said,
'Look, Father, I don't think you're being straight with me. I want to join your Church and I'm going to join your Church, but you're holding too much back.' I asked what he meant, and he said: 'I've had a long talk with a Catholic - a very pious, well-educated one, and I've learned a thing or two.
For instance, that you have to sleep with your feet pointing East because that's the direction of heaven, and if you die in the night you can walk there. Now I'll sleep with my feet pointing any way that suits Julia, but d'you expect a grown man to believe about walking to heaven?
And what about the Pope that made one of his horses a cardinal?
And what about the box you keep in the church porch, and if you put in a pound note with someone's name on it, they get sent to hell. I don't say there mayn't be a good reason for all this,' he said, 'but you ought to tell me about it and not let me find out for myself.'"
"What can the poor man have meant?" said Lady Marchmain.
"You see he's a long way from the Church yet," said Father Mowbray.
"But who can he have been talking to? Did he dream it all? Cordelia, what's the matter?"
"What a chump! Oh, Mummy, what a glorious chump!"
"Cordelia, it was you."
"Oh, Mummy, who could have dreamed he'd swallow it? I told him such a lot besides. About the sacred monkeys in the Vatican - all kinds of things."<<<<

If Judge Sotomayor really has never considered the rights of the unborn, then she is probably the 2nd least intellectually curious person on the planet behind Rex. Oh wait! I forgot. Rex is imaginary. Looks like that puts her in first place!

Hey Judge, have you ever thought about what they feed those sacred monkeys in the Vatican?

Papal Nuncio sees Miguel Diaz as 'Excellent'!

There is a direct connection between Catholics who support a lukewarm, glad-handing Communion “meal”, and Catholics who are lukewarm about protecting the lives of human fetus’.

When K. C. posted the picture of a minister giving Holy Communion to Senator John Kerry, who by the way was not kneeling and was grabbing the Host [KC retracts what was originally written here and apologizes to his Excellency Archbishop Sambi !]XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The minister’s gaze is not on the Lord, instead he does a ‘no-look’ pass XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXGiving him the benefit of a doubt, the thought did occur that maybe the minister was just using Communion as a nice time to make new friends. At the time K. C. did not suspect that the minister might actually know who and what Kerry is.
K. C. was wrong!

This minister was none other than the Pope’s own representative to the U. S., Archbishop Pietro Sambi! Sambi knew exactly what he was doing. Namely using his tender gaze and casual manner of distributing Holy Communion to strike a deadly blow to two important papal initiatives:
1. Kneeling Communion on the tongue
2.Granting fetus’ legal protection
I say this with a heavy heart…but in light of the above it is not surprising that the Archbishop, tragically and sinisterly, has again continued his own campaign to confuse and dispirit pro-life Catholics. I of course am referring to Sambi’s gushing over President Obama’s Vatican ambassor nomination of Miguel Diaz, a Catholic who ‘skirts’ [the word used by a pro-Obama press article]] the Church’s sanctity of life teachings.
Skirts hell! The carte blanche Diaz gave candidate Obama on abortion combines with his unconditional support for pro-partial-birth-abortion Sebelius to exemplify the ‘pro-choice’ position. Mr Diaz has had plenty of time to reassure pro-life Catholics as to what his own position is (in case it is not what it appears to be) ….and?

Maybe, for Mr. Diaz, protecting the unborn comes in somewhere after protecting polar bears or printing money to pay failed bankers their bonuses or using it to buy out out failed automakers. Diaz has had more than enough time to delineate where he places protecting the unborn…..

The time-tested process of elimination leads us to believe: Mr. Diaz is simply a pro-choice Catholic XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Mr. Diaz and all the other pro-choice Catholics, Kerry, Sibelius, Pelosi…. have at least one friend in a very high place.

Pray for our Holy Father who is being betrayed by his inner circle!! And remember that if you want to be really pro-life, then kneel down for the Lord of Life!

'Kmerian' from Father Zuhlsdorf's kneeling post

Sisters and Brothers!

Our theme will not go away! This is because it is Athanasius', and Cardinal Canizares' [CDWDS prefect] and it is the Holy Father's cause!

Check out what some of Father Z's , june 9th readers ventured after someone complained that they were recently scolded and denied Communion because they kneeled.....

>>>>>>>I am a EMHC at my parish. And if someone knelt to recieve communion in my line, I would give it to them and go on. I agree that the commotion would be in making an issue of it.
But, at the same time, I must wonder why the insistence on it? The important thing in communion is WHO you are receiving not HOW you receive him. Perhaps Fr. Z can explain it better. But wouldn’t insisting on receiving it in a certain position almost border on superstition under Canon Law, by attributing “the efficacy of prayers or of sacramental signs to their mere external performance, apart from the interior dispositions that they demand, is to fall into superstition.”
Just my thought

>>>There are a couple of people who like to receive kneeling at the convent where I go to Mass. It seems a bit much to me,<<<<

Dear Sacerdotale and Kmerian,

It is hard to miss the condescension in your comments. Well at least you are willing to 'put up' with us. Sacerdotale, a 'bit much' ? One of Bishop Athanasius Schneider's points is that kneeling is an important witness to others, yes we want to say with souls and bodies that Jesus is Lord. There is nothing wrong with that, even if you think it is 'impolite' to bring it up where people are accustomed to treating Jesus in a more luke-warm manner. Kind of like breaching the topic of female dignity in a teenage boys' locker room.

Kmerian, [I hope you are tuning in] on a related note since you are an emHC, do all you emHCs who touch the Sacrament purify their fingers afterwards just as the priest does?

Human dignity

>>>>[A.P.]MESA, Arizona - Five officers have been placed on paid leave after one allegedly flushed a fetus down a toilet, police officials say. Four officers responding to a call about a possible miscarriage at a motel on Monday discovered a woman who apparently lost a fetus estimated to be 12 to 14 weeks old, Police Chief George Gascon told the East Valley Tribune/Scottsdale Tribune. Gascon said an officer who wasn't at the motel instructed the four over the phone to flush the 4-inch fetus down the toilet rather than take it to a hospital.<<<<< I know K. C. should add a commentary here, but I'm speechless. Is there anyone, anywhere in 'blogdom' who does not experience revulsion when hearing this story? Is this not a crime against human dignity?

Wait! I have an idea. Let us bring this case before our modern-day Solomon, our President and let him issue forth a ruling on what crime, if any has been committed.

Bishops' ban on Communion on the Tongue

is spiritual torture for many.

Maybe those public-health-Bishops who have forced this upon us will someday explain to people with tender consciences, like the following person, that "Fragments don't matter! Treat them as you would treat discarded kleenex! Everyone else does! Those patens? They are just for show!"

From Joe of St. Therese's blog (2 days ago)

>>>.....just got home from the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass being offered at Our Lady of Guadalupe in El Monte (a very nice Spanish parish generally...)I know my purgatory sentence is about to increase 100 fold for this rant, but I really don't care today.I was denied receiving kneeling and on the tongue by the Pastor of the parish....Now bear in mind I'm holding my Missal in my hand ....... My hands were completely occupied, ........I was just about to curse out Father during Communion (I restrained, and VERY reluctantly received in the hand, and was licking my hand well after Mass, I do not want one drop of Our Lord falling because of my negligence) I was virtually crying because to me the act has become totally sacrilegious in my eyes. .....I sighed out a "por que" and Father was about to give Communion to someone else until I finally opened my hands.I feel so horrible. ......<<<

Kneeling for Communion and abortion

Since I introduced this topic as a 'quiz', and promised to show how these topics are related...here's K. C.'s best attempt.....

The phenomenon of murdering abortionists began under the Clinton reign, the first one occurring in 1993 and followed by quite a number which then ceased altogether under Bush, and now has reappeared under Obama. Bush's perfect record protecting the lives of abortionists is astounding! Why is that? K. C. would guess that this is no coincidence, but rather this re-emergence of anti-abortion violence is an expression of – desperation.

...The anti-abortion movement, realistically or not-so realistically, has had hope under Republican administrations of granting human fetuses some form of legal protection. [[put crassly, giving fetuses the same protections we grant dove or quail or other hunted game would be to grant them infinitely more legal protection than they now have!!]]

...However with the advent of a Democrat to the White House, and with it the Democratic party's determination to
--- deny all human fetus’ every form of legal protection;
--to legalize and fund the cloning of human embryos for spare parts;
--to promote abortion internationally; [not to mention our President's own personal crusade to deny medical treatment to live-born aborted infants];

..this hope is vanishing and hope's deadly opposite, desperation is setting in. We condemn vigilante-ism, but there are always 'John Brown' nut-jobs who do not consider themselves bound to any organization's authority. These people were held in check by Mr. Bush's approach. Mr. Obama, as did Bill Clinton before him, seems bent upon inciting them.

...To those of you who just don't see what the big deal is about and don't understand why religious people, believing there is such a thing as a human soul and that it is infinitely valuable, just can't accept abortion, euthanasia, etc. ; To those of you who think the pro-life movement is all 'chauvinistic posturing by the Christian right,' I must ask.... How many of the World’s other major faiths harmonize with U. S. abortion law?
Unless you count the hedonism of Hollywood, Hefner, and Hustler [and hell] to be a major faith, Zero.

...Let's pretend that Doug Kmiec were to win over the USCCB and 100% of American Catholics were to drop out of the abortion struggle, the U. S. Supreme Court’s fiat on abortion would still continue to incense millions of religious Greek Orthodox, Mormons, protestants, orthodox Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and (gulp) Muslims. Where's all the sensitivity to diversity in such an approach? gone. That's why it is apparent that the pro-choice goal with regards to abortion does not seem to be 'toleration' -- rather it is incitement, then repression, then transformation. not just for Catholicism, but for all faiths who hold to old fashioned morality ....that is to say: all faiths.

...Here is where K. C. sees a commonality between Mr. Obama and many of the Catholics who support him. Both he and they profess tolerance for the opposition, but end up practicing annihilation. Kneeling for Holy Communion did not die a quiet death. It was eradicated. Communion rails were ripped out and bishops passed 'guidelines' which pre-empted kneeling. In the same way Mr. Obama's proposed brand of pro-choice, pro-cloning, pro-homosexuality Catholicism initially presents itself as a more tolerant brand of the old Faith, but in the end this approach demands that Catholicism abandon fundamental tenets regarding natural law and even the existence of the human soul.

K. C. has said this before, but it bears repeating. If you want to be really pro-life, then kneel down for the Lord of Life!

Why was President Bush so good at protecting abortionists? (yet another quiz)

[K. C.'s comments are in red for this post]

in case you haven't heard.... Abortionist Murdered!

<<<
Dr. George Tiller was one of the few U.S. physicians that performed late-term abortions. ....

...
Wichita police said a 51-year-old man from the Kansas City, Kansas, area was in custody in connection with the slaying of Tiller, who was one of the few U.S. physicians who still performed late-term abortions.

The killing, which came about 16 years after Tiller survived a shooting outside his clinic, took place shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday at Reformation Lutheran Church. Officers found the 67-year-old dead in the foyer, police said.<<<< ...CNN is either too dense or too dishonest to mention that original spate of abortionist murders, including even an unsuccessful attack upon Dr. Tiller in 1993, had all occurred under Bill Clinton's watch. The whole phenomenon took a vacation under President Bush and now has re-emerged under President Obama.

...President Bush, besides keeping America safe from terrorist attack in the 7 years 4 months after 9/11, apparently was also an expert at keeping abortionists safe.

. ..Anyone care to tell me why Bush was so good ? or why Clinton and now Obama are not so good at it?

...The answer is obvious.

. ..[[from wikipedia....March 10, 1993: Dr. David Gunn of Pensacola, Florida was fatally shot during a protest. He had been the subject of wanted-style posters distributed by Operation Rescue in the summer of the year before. Michael F. Griffin was found guilty of Dr. Gunn's murder and was sentenced to life in prison. June 29, 1994: Dr. John Britton and James Barrett, a clinic escort, were both shot to death outside of another facility in Pensacola. Rev. Paul Jennings Hill was charged with the killings, received a death sentence, and was executed September 3, 2003. December 30, 1994: Two receptionists, Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols, were killed in two clinic attacks in Brookline, Massachusetts. John Salvi, who prior to his arrest was distributing pamphlets from Human Life International,[5] was arrested and confessed to the killings. He committed suicide in prison and guards found his body under his bed with a plastic garbage bag tied around his head. Salvi had also confessed to a non-lethal attack in Norfolk, Virginia days before the Brookline killings. His was the last in a series of similar shootings against providers in Canada and northern New York state which were all likely committed by James Kopp. Kopp was convicted of Dr. Slepian's murder after finally being apprehended in France in 2001. May 31, 2009: Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed as he served as an usher at his church in Wichita, Kansas.[6] A fifth doctor, George Patterson, was shot and killed in Mobile, Alabama on August 21, 1993, but it is uncertain whether his death was the direct result of his profession or rather a robbery.[7] <<<<<

... La respuesta es clara.
