BTW the cost for a letter from the USA to Vatican City thru the USPS = $1.10.
Having Our Blessed Lord handed out like popcorn from plastic cups is sickening. It sums up all that is wrong with modern liturgies, especially the ones conducted on a grand scale with hundreds of thousands participating.
some will protest that this was the only way to distribute to such a large number of Communicants.
But, in your mind, picture if instead of the above scandalous image: we had seen three million people kneeling in the sand on the beach whenever the Blessed Sacrament was brought near to them. Would that not have made a powerful impression and testimony to the world?!!
There are places of Christendom where this would still happen, (in Latvia and many of the former Soviet Republics). We have a lot to learn from them!
This is a public scandal, and as such calls for public reparation from all who contributed to this.
