Kneeling Catholic has it from reliable sources that, as of Dec. 7th, 2009 100% of the Corpus Christi Cathedral catechism teachers have signed on to a pro-life pledge which was circulated by the rector. The pledge declares that the signers will:
1) neither vote for nor support in any way any political candidate who is pro-choice,
2)or supports embryonic stem cell research,
3)or any form of human cloning. ...
1) neither vote for nor support in any way any political candidate who is pro-choice,
2)or supports embryonic stem cell research,
3)or any form of human cloning. ...
so long as there is an opponent whose position on these items is more in line with Catholic teaching.
Some of the Cathedral's staff are even Democratic party stalwarts who hold positions with the diocese! This is wonderful news! maybe the local Democratic party will feel the pro-life pull.

I am very pleased to read that but I have a fifficult time to beleive it.I hope it is true .
ReplyDeleteOne can only hope. But the fight lingers on while we continue to elect such radical politicians such as Barack Obama, we wil always find ourselves in the struggle.

Bishop Carmody and Kneeling Catholic,
Here is a copy of a response that I was unable to get accepted on the blog.

The Diocese of Corpus Christi has a requirement for a commitment for teachers and other ministers concerning child molestation, so a pro-llife commitment as the one taken at the Cathedral should be a requiirement for every parish in the Diocese. I hope our Bishop will agree and require the comitment which should also include no vote for any candidate that supports intrinsic evil in the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church.
