RIP CHARLIE PRIDE

This is last year, where Charlie was still performing at 85 years old...Note  0:04 the audience of "deplorables"

@ 3:00 of his 2017 interview

When I when I first started
giving interviews and all different
reporters would say: "now Charlie how does
it feel to be the Jackie Robinson of
country music?",  or "how does it feel to be
the first colored country singer?" or "
how does it feel to be the first Negro
country singer" or Charlie how does it
feel to be the first Afro- American
country singer?" I said I feel the same way as when I was "colored"
I don't feel no different..... so
I try to narrow it down to that and they
say "well which one do you want?" I said well "
that's four of them,"  I said "well I'm
Charlie pride the staunch American!"

Corpus Christi Voter's Guide update for   DECEMBER 15, 2020 City Council Run-Off Election

Colonel A M Hobby Camp 713 Sons of Confederate Veterans, (SCV)

Our candidates did very well!! I'll have more on that later BUT in the meantime, we have a mayoral run-off coming up, with one week of early voting December 5-11.

Remember to vote for.....

   FOR MAYOR OF CORPUS CHRISTI

          PAULETTE GUAJARDO

Paulette reads and responds to emails. She loves tradition and wants to clean up the blight around our historical Rose Hill Cemetery where so many of our civil war veterans are interred. I have great respect for Paulette's opponent, HOWEVER we should recall that he was responsible for destroying our ICONIC Memorial Coliseum which was dedicated to our WWII fallen! Enough said!!

(DISTRICT 4) KAYLYNN PAXSON

Very much like Paulette Guajardo, Kaylynn answers emails  and wants to clean up Rose Hill Cemetery's surroundings. Her opponent has never responded despite numerous appeals.

(DISTRICT 1) BILLY LERMA

Mr. Lerma did very respectfully respond to my original email to him.  He did not have any specific responses.

My 2020 VOTER'S GUIDE for the Colonel A M Hobby Camp 713 Sons of Confederate Veterans, (SCV)   for Corpus Christi Residents! (20OCT2020)

Well!! Two Weeks to go and early voting has been running for a week. In August,  I emailed all Corpus Christi City Council candidates, asking for their views on issues regarding honoring our deceased mothers and fathers. Each candidate was asked specifically how they felt about our United Daughters of the Confederacy fountain, our Columbus statue disappearing, and also about the urban blight that the city has allowed to encroach on Rose Hill Cemetery.

The Corpus Christi ISD board candidates were asked directly about 2017 removal of the Hamlin Middle School Rebel mascot.

Some heroes emerged, and if you are able to vote for any of the following people, I would recommend them as being pro-tradition and pro-history and pro-patria!

            FOR MAYOR OF CORPUS CHRISTI

          PAULETTE GUAJARDO

Paulette, a Corpus Christi native, was the ONLY ONE of nine mayoral candidates to  directly address the urban   blight encroaching on Corpus Christi's Rose Hill Cemetery

Paulette is a member of Corpus Christi's only parish which offers the Latin Mass

She is clearly a person who values TRADITION. Vote for HER!

Recommended CCISD School Board AT-LARGE  CANDIDATES.

There are two great candidates running, Alice Upshaw Hawkins and Don Clark! you can give all three of your votes to either of them or just vote for both of them.

ALICE UPSHAW HAWKINS

Mrs Hawkins grew up here  picking cotton and thinks that her having picked cotton is something to take pride in and that our local history should be remembered and CELEBRATED. Mrs. Hawkins thinks our schools started going  downhill  “when school prayer was removed”. An African American, Mrs. Hawkins says she would ‘be honored to have the support of the Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy’.  If Mrs. Hawkins is re-elected, I know we will have a friend and advocate for tradition who believes in  for honoring our fathers and mothers.

Our other great CCISD candidate is......

DON CLARK  who is  very straight shooter. Mr. Clark is a  veteran, and though he is not a Corpus Christi native, Don is a Tennessean who graduated from high school here. Don very much regrets the removal of Hamlin's 'Rebel' Mascot!

Corpus Christi City Council

Recommended Corpus Christi At-Large Candidates  Four candidates of the 13 responded favorably to my questionnaire.(you may either split your vote amongst three candidates or concentrate your vote on one) The best candidates for preserving tradition and cemeteries are:

JOHN MARTINEZ  Mr Martinez is very RESPONSIVE and a Corpus Christi native  with many ancestors buried here. He understands EXACTLY where we are coming from!!

RICARDO HANKERSON

MIKE PUSLEY

FRANK ARRIAGA

(Honorable mention goes to Liz Perez. Liz did not get around to answering my questions about our UDC fountain and Columbus,  HOWEVER she does want to do something about beautifying ROSE HILL CEMETERY. I would not rule her out as anyone who wants to preserve what is beautiful in our city is a friend!)

Recommended Corpus Christi District 1 candidate:

NEELY BALKO

Recommended Corpus Christi District 2 candidates: both of the two following    are wonderful candidates as far as ‘honoring our ancestors’. I live in District 2 and I regret   that I can’t vote   for both of them!

SYLVIA CAMPOS

BEN MOLINA

Recommended Corpus Christi District 3 candidates:

(Sorry, the District 3 candidates did not display interest in our issues)

Recommended Corpus Christi District 4 candidate:

Kaylynn Paxson (Kaylynn did not answer the question about our monuments, but she gets honorable mention because of her interest in beautifying Rose Hill cemetery)

Recommended Corpus Christi District 5 candidate:

(Sorry, the District 5 candidates did not display interest in our issues)

I hope this has helped to inform you about our local candidates! feel free to forward this email to our other members.  Perhaps, before November 3, they have something valuable to add that I have overlooked.

Mark Twain, Unreconstructed Confederate

MARK TWAIN, LOST CAUSER?

"........ Dear Wife, I had to march the first day of the month barefoot and I wore the skin off my feet and froze them and my toenails will come off and they pain me all most to death. You never have seen such feet [as] I got."

((Private Edward L. Sowers, Confederate soldier)).......

Mark Twain chose never to publish his 'War-Prayer' short story.  Why he did not is a question worth pondering, but can never be completely answered. Regardless, it is safe to say that Twain must have feared someone's wrath. Twain liked to refer to himself as a 'reconstructed Southerner'.  Had he published 'War-Prayer', some of the public might have doubted that he was truly reconstructed.

Twain's 'War-Prayer' tells of a heavenly visitor who walks into a church service where loved ones are sending  their men off to war...the preacher begins a prayer for victory, quoting from the Old Testament...then a spectral visitor asks if he can finish the prayer.....

" ....we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun-flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it -- for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! ......

Wikipedia says Twain's unpublished work was a protest against the Spanish American War.  Depending upon when it was written, that could be true.. The story is certainly anti-war.  HOWEVER, the images conjured-- in particular, the image of snow, betrays that Twain does not have in mind the tropics, which is where the Spanish American war was fought. The snow instead  points to  America's Civil War, where there WERE battles fought in bitter cold. ( like Pea Ridge) and where Confederate soldiers were notorious for going unshod.

In addition to Twain's references to soldiers with bloody feet,  he also mentions burnt homes and masses of homeless and blighted lives. The only large scale destruction of people's homes took place in the South! He also mentions enemy dead as 'patriot dead'. This indicates that the praying-side must be about to invade someone else's land.  If this is a Civil War metaphor, then the devastation depicted does not reflect the North's losses during the War. Twain's sad litany is an accurate picture of devastated Dixie and hence is most likely an indictment of the Union's conduct during the War.

Kneeling Catholic touches on the 'Black Legend'

YouTube would not post my response to Joe Ryan's above video, so here it is here....

Friend, I disagree with you when you contrast the Spanish treatment of American Indians with that of Anglo America. All you need  do is look at the typical illegal immigrant coming from Latin America. They are not Europeans! They are Indians with Spanish surnames and that's it. If the Spanish wiped out the Indians then ((as Custer famously asked)) 'where the hell are all these Indians coming from!?'

A typical Latin American has a lot of Indian blood. Most people with Indian blood who live in the US today have immigrated to us from Latin America (you know, the place where Columbus had them wiped out?)But wait, I thought you said Columbus wiped them out!

Here is another question: Why American Indians embrace Columbus's Catholicism if they hated him and the Spaniards so much? The same might be asked of Christian black America. Why did slaves embrace the religion of their white owners if the Southern master-slave relationship was so poisonous?

The fact is, there is this thing called the 'black legend' about Spain and Catholicism that England and the  puritans cooked up way back in the 17th CTY.   They were in competition with Spain in the new world, so they magnified Catholic (Spanish) misdeeds and downplayed their own evil treatment of the Indians.   Please recall General Amherst giving small-pox blankets to Chief Pontiac in the 18th CTY and the acts of Sheridan and Custer and  Nathaniel Lyon in the 19th. (Why were ALL America's butchers of the Indians also heroes of Mr. Lincoln's  Union Army?) By the early 20th CTY, the US northern states had become ethnically-cleansed, white ethno-states and the Yankees liked it that way.

Yankee Abolitionists like Ralph W  Emerson and Julian Sturdevant explicitly remarked that they first expected  the North American Indians to go extinct and then the North American black men.  They could only say that because they were already witnessing Anglo America's eradication of Indians.

Queen Isabella the Catholic removed from California state capitol

Instead of hearing sermons about social distancing and wearing masks...it would be nice, your excellencies (bishops) and fathers (priests), to hear about reasons why so many of you descendants of the Aztecs, Mayas and Incas are worshiping the one true God! Those reasons being Columbus, the Spanish conquistadors and the missionaries.

What would have happened if the Americas would have been discovered by, say, the protestant British East India Company? Look what they did to China in the 19th Cty! They filled it with opium so they could have tea....and remember the part where the British had all the Chinese all become Anglicans?  o yeah...that didn't happen. If the Chinese had become Christian, it might have been harder to fill the country with opium dens!

The following is a news report about the above  incident in English...(instead of Quechua )

WHY KNEELING CATHOLIC JOINED THE SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS (SCV)
Because: going into cemeteries and removing memorials is a sin.

(caption)
CONFEDERATE REST
THE VALIANT CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS WHO LIE BURIED HERE WERE MEMBERS OF THE 1ST ALABAMA INF. REG. CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA. THEY WERE CAPTURED IN THE SPRING OF 1962 IN THE CIVIL WAR BATTLE OF ISLAND NO. 10 IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER SOUTH OF CAIRO, ILLINOIS. THEIR TASK WAS TO HALT RIVER TRAFFIC CARRYING MEN AND SUPPLIES TO NORTHERN FORCES FURTHER SOUTH.
AFTER WEEKS OF FIGHTING UNDER EXTREMELY DIFFICULT CONDITIONS, THEY WERE FORCED TO SURRENDER. CONSTANT FIRE FROM RIVER GUNBOATS AND LAND FORCES MADE THEIR POSITION UNTENABLE. AFTER SURRENDER, THEY WERE MOVED TO CAMP RANDALL AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED MANY WERE SUFFERING FROM WOUNDS, MALNUTRITION AND VARIOUS DISEASES.
WITHIN A FEW WEEKS, 140 GRAVES WERE FILLED. THE LAST RESTING PLACES FOR THESE UNSUNG HEROES FAR FROM THEIR HOMES IN ALABAMA, TENNESSEE, MISSISSIPPI, LOUISIANA AND ARKANSAS.
HERE ALSO IS THE GRAVE OF ALICE WHITING WATERMAN, A GRACIOUS SOUTHERN LADY WHO DEVOTED MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF HER LIFE TO CARING FOR THE GRAVES OF ‘HER BOYS’

Mayor Soglin of Madison Wisconsin removed the memorial plaque pictured above back in 2017, because!!!!! Wait for it………the Nazis!!!!

SOGLIN @ 20:15....we would not allow the Nazi emblem  to stand over the Brandenburg Gate and  to this day  we wouldn't allow the Ku Klux Klan or  the Nazis to put in a representative  sign in a public place in this city  these folks are no different they are as vicious and they lie !!!

I’m reading between the lines on this plaque and I don’t see anything about white supremacy, ‘God bless the KKKay’, or anything about slavery. There’s not anything even about defending their homeland from invasion.

It is a hoot to listen to Soglin’s news conference. He is really frightened of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. To him those little old ladies are Satan incarnate. Yet the UDC and SCV are the only people opposing this desecration of graves and for this they will always and forever have my ‘vote’ .
